Today I turned 36 and all I can think of is, "wow, how can it be that I am closer to 40 than 30?"  How did I get so "old?"  And then, there's this thing I do on every birthday- not on purpose- it just always comes into my mind.  I think about my mom at my age.  She had a 17 year old daughter when she was 36.  And I'm not sure if that makes me feel older or younger?  Well, I'm having a baby in a few months so that automatically makes me younger, right?  Just say yes.
Honestly, I am just so thankful for the years of health that the Lord has given me so far, for the sweet blessing of getting to be what I wanted to be when I "grew up," a wife and a mommy.  And I am so thankful for His continued grace and goodness in each day.
In spite of having sick kids, today was a good day.  I went to church with Teshome, the only healthy one, and came home and had a crazy delicious meal cooked by my husband.  He marinated chicken in cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, crushed red pepper and he grilled it- in the freezing rain.  He also made salsa and cilantro lime rice.  YUM.
